Alpine Adventure in Northern Italy

It was late October, when Thomas “der Professor” Schmitt decided to fit in one last adventure before winter hit the Alps. 

He set off for Brixen – a town in the province of South Tyrol in northern Italy – aiming for the Grosser Gabler alpine hut (2575m).

Mother Nature had other plans however, covering the Dolomites in heavy snowfall the night before the trip…

Did you know...

... it's not vorbidden to bike in the middle of winter. This year Petrus for some reason decided to forget South Tyrol completely and only the temperatures make us remember we are in the middle of Winter.
Even if some people might find it strange, me and my friends are already having a great time on the Trails of Brixen... and can't wait to test our new bikes and materials.
Writing these few words and looking out of the window it has just started to snow heavyly... sorry Petrus.

Sternsinger... eine Südtiroler Tradition

Die Sternsinger-Aktion wird von der Katholischen Jungschar Südtirols in Zusammenarbeit mit missio Bozen-Brixen durchgeführt. Die Katholische Jungschar gibt damit Kindern die Möglichkeit, Kirche als Gemeinschaft zu erleben. Die Kinder besuchen - begleitet von Jugendlichen oder Erwachsenenen - als "Weise aus dem Orient" die Haushalte der Pfarrgemeinden.  Sie bringen die Weihnachtsbotschaft.  Sie machen auf die Nöte der Mitmenschen aufmerksam, die diese Botschaft noch nicht erfahren konnten und sammeln für die Unterstützung von kirchlichen Projekten in Afrika, Asien, Lateinamerika, Osteuropa und Ozeanien.

Testival 2016

Bereits zum sechsten Mal fand vom 22. bis 25. September 2016 das MountainBIKE-Testival in Brixen statt, das von der Zeitschrift MountainBIKE (Motor Presse Stuttgart) in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Tourismusverein Brixen organisiert wurde.

Ganz nach dem Motto „nach der Saison ist vor der Saison“ trafen sich die renommiertesten Bike- und Parts-Hersteller in Brixen, um die neuesten Highlights für das Mountainbike-Jahr 2017 vorzustellen. 

Das Gebiet um Brixen und der Plose konnte auch heuer wieder auf spannenden Singletrails, anspruchsvollen Anstiegen und Downhillpassagen zusammen mit ortskundigen Bike-Guides erkundet werden.

“I sogni dell’elefante 2016”: dopo 55 mila spettatori entusiasti che hanno assistito allo spettacolo nel 2015, l’elefante Soliman ritorna a Bressanone e accompagnerà gli ospiti in un viaggio emozionante. Dal 24 novembre 2016 Soliman resterà nel Palazzo Vescovile di Bressanone di nuovo per 44 giorni e farà vivere agli spettatori nuove emozioni. Gli artisti della luce della società internazionale francese “Spectaculaires – Allumeurs d’Images” animeranno nuovamente le facciate del Palazzo Vescovile con le luci di moderni proiettori in 3D e creeranno un ‘atmosfera magica fatta di luci e musica. Lasciatevi trasportare nel sogno di Soliman 2.
