CAIDom 2011

Pfunderer Joch

After Stoanamandl, Plose and Latzfonser Kreuz we absolutely had to put the crown on this week by making the Pfunderer Joch. Everybody knew that it is going to be very steep and never ending long... and so it was. At the end we all reached the top (Hans Erik even without getting off the bike) and after the nice downhill to the Weitenbergalm some good Kartoffelsuppe and Kaiserschmarren (and of course a few beers) gave us the power to be abel to bike alle they way back home to Brixen.

Latzfonser Kreuz

The plan was to go over the Windleger until the Latzfonser Kreuz (2.350 mt) and after that we wanted to reach the lake of the Radlsee (2.250 mt). Thats is why we started from the Gasser Hütte (1.600 mt) knowing that until the Radlsee we will make at least 1.500 highmeters.... so far the plan... at the end we had to take a littel shortcut down to Feldthurns to change a bike but so we had the opportunity to enjoy the good cakes of the Unterwirt and after that the nice trails of the Kastanienweg until Brixen. Arriving there at 17:00 we had yet an other fantastic day and if we can fix all the broken bikes until tomorrow so the Pfunderer Joch will be taken under our wheels.

2000 mt above Brixen

The highest mountain in Norway ist 2.462 mt... the Plose peak is just a few mt higher so we absolutely had to go there because my norvegian friends wanted to be above their country. But who goes up somehow has to go down. Choosing the trail to the Leonhardter Kreuz and than the track nr. 4 gave the whole day the certain kind of pepper to make sure they will never forget that trip.

Stoanamandl Tour

Leaving at 10 from Brixen after 2 hours we were already in Vals... far to quick but all the group was really strong. The first day we didn't want to spend all our energy so we chose to take the cabin up to Jochtal. After lunch on the Ochsenalm we headed towards the Stoanamandl (2.113 mt) to start with the neverending downhill all the way down to Brixen.

Zitteraal and friends

The challenge "Pfunderer Joch"

It is long, it is high and it is very very steep. That is why not many people will ever get to the Pfunderer Joch. But the hard work is worth it and when you make the nice trail down to the Weitenberg Alm everything is forgotten. This year my friend Svein Olaf from Norway took the challenge and made it perfectly to the top... and it was our luckiest day ever because on top we found 2 beers hidden in the snow... unbelievable ;-).

Rodenegger Hüttentour

Each Wednesday we head towards the Rodenegger Alm, where Roner Hütte and Starkenfelder Hütte can guarantee good food, nice company and beautyfull views towards the Dolomites. Before getting there we always pass the same trail between Rastner Hütte and Roner Hütte... but thes time a gate was closed :-)
